Dr. Casey Humphrey

Dr. Casey Humphrey was recognized at the fall 2021 faculty meeting for CHS.  She received the Award for Excellence in Service. Casey is an assistant professor in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. She also serves as the department’s Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. Casey received her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and her Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy from EKU. She received her Master’s of Health Administration from Des Moines University. Casey is a licensed Occupational Therapist and is a certified brain injury specialist and certified driving rehabilitation specialist. She continues to work PRN in community-based, brain injury rehabilitation. She is passionate about working with and advocating for brain injury survivors. She also loves teaching occupational therapy students and helping guide them through their clinical fieldwork experiences. Casey lives in Winchester, Kentucky with her Husband and three children.

Casey represents the College of Health Sciences on the EKU Graduate Council as the Chair of the Curriculum sub-committee. She is also on the University Hazing and Organization Misconduct Investigation Committee and the Winter Term Implementation Committee. Casey serves as one of the advisors for the Chi Omega sorority on EKU’s campus. Within her Department, Casey engages in a variety of service with the most notable being the Chair of the Fieldwork Management Committee and the Co-Chair of the Research Day Committee. Casey is on the executive board of the Kentucky Occupational Therapy Association as the Education

Chair. She also serves on the conference planning committee for the Brain Injury Association of Northern Kentucky. Casey is a Bluegrass Academic Leadership Academy Fellow and has recently completed the Leadership of Winchester program. In her community, Casey has volunteered with the Special Olympics, Salvation Army, Arms of Love, and Operation Happiness organizations. She also enjoys supporting her children’s school and her local church.
