Award for Excellence in Staff
Jamie Woolery was recognized at the fall 2021 faculty meeting for CHS. She received the Award for Excellence in Staff. Jamie Woolery is the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator for the College of Health Sciences. She has earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky University; she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and will finish in Summer 2022. She takes pride in providing supportive services to students within the College of Health Sciences to help them be successful in their college careers. Her long-term goals are to remain in student affairs and student success providing access to higher education and support to students seeking post-secondary education.
Jamie has led the way to create a recruitment and retention plan based on innovation and creativity. The COVID-19 pandemic forced CHS to redesign recruiting strategies to appeal to students. Reaching students where they are is vital to the success of the recruitment and retention plan and the foreseeable future of the College. During the past year the recruitment and retention plan was built from scratch to reach students in a more effective manner and explore more creative solutions for both future students and parents. These creative
approaches included coordinated live stream into high school classrooms by CHS faculty teaching on topics of interest, as well as the on-campus and virtual experiences. Jamie actively coordinates a College plan that provides more than 150 events per semester for both prospective and current Health Sciences students. She has also worked diligently to develop many University and community partnerships to better aid the recruitment and retention process of students across multiple states.
