Mrs. Heather Foster is the recipient of the 2020 CHS Staff Excellence Award. She has a BA in General Studies (Professional Track-Public Administration) and is currently enrolled in the Masters in Public Administration program. Heather is an Administrative Coordinator in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. In this role, she is responsible for managing the Department’s financial activities, performing administrative functions, and ensuring effective operation of the Department. Heather is the go-to person in the Department for a variety of needs. She is level-headed and a good problem solver, from fixing technology issues to finding resources. She is hard working and takes the initiative. Heather frequently goes above and beyond to support the Department. Her days are challenging with two young sons at home as well working on her master’s degree. Heather has even made time to perform guest lectures for the Department that have been very well received by students.
Heather is extremely active at the university level, and passionate about representing staff. She is currently an elected Staff Council Representative, and a member of the University Parking Appeals Committee and the University Issues and Benefits Committee. She has also served in a variety of other roles such as Staff Council Treasurer and Staff Council Issues and Benefits Committee Chair. She is a member of the American Society of Public Administration, the American Society of Administrative Professionals, Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society, and Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society. Heather is an asset to the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy!
